Value Investigation: Zim Integrated Shipping
Value stock turned value trap?
As we continue our mission to provide readers with weekly updates on markets and our forecasts for economic data, we would also like to dig deeper into the whole purpose behind Andy's Angle, and that is value investing.
To do this, we are launching a new series, our value investigations, where we will be featuring select companies and analyzing them, producing a verdict on whether or not they are sound value investments. In addition to this, we encourage readers to submit which stocks they would like featured within this series, to help further curate our line of articles to our readers interests.
We see this series as a happy medium between our ongoing "Investing Education" and "Value Stock Spotlight" series, focusing on one stock, but also covering methodology and education into how we analyze stocks at Andy's Angle.
These investigations will follow a format in which we analyze companies on five different metrics:
Growth: Is the company growing? What is their future like?
Health: How is the company doing financially? Is their business model sustainable? Will they survive?
Valuation: Is the current valuation fair? Is there enough value yet to be realized to make it a good investment?
Risk Profile: What are the risks of investing in this company? Are they worth the rewards? Are there any fatal risks to the business?
History: How has the company historically performed? What has management done in the past that may foreshadow the future?
All five of these metrics will be rated on a specialized scale and then output an overall Andy's Angle Value Score, which will be updated as more research reports are released and tracked on a "leaderboard" for the stocks we have covered.
With that being said, let's take a look at our first candidate, requested by multiple readers, ZIM.
